2. The DeMarcus Cousins of Old Would Bring Havoc to Atlanta

DeMarcus Cousins is finally healthy again and starting to get his basketball legs back under him. It isn’t a question of whether or not he will be playing with the Warriors in 2019-20 but where he will be playing?

Golden State doesn’t have enough cap room to pay Cousins and he will be looking to cash in . Atlanta will be looking for a big man who isn’t Alex Len.  Len has played well in his time in Atlanta but is a rotational piece not a starter on a contending team.

Adding Cousins to the Atlanta lineup completely changes the look of the team. Giving him a long term deal would be costly, but if he can stay healthy it would make the Hawks a true contender in the East.

Cousins to Atlanta makes sense on paper, but for a team rebuilding it seems doubtful they would sign a long term deal outside of adding a top five player. Which brings us to our final scenario.
