Strengths

One of Clelin Ferrell’s best strengths is his array of polished pass rush moves. He uses rip moves, chops, spin moves and an array of other moves, to get pass opposing offensive tackles. This is valuable to NFL coaches, as many pass rushers don’t posses a single counter mover coming out of college. Ferrell has good strength and has the ability to power through contact and still reach the passer. He also good arm length that helps him disengage from rival blockers.

Clelin is a good run defender. He does a great job at setting the edge, rarely allowing opponents to get around the edge on his side of the field. He is also disciplined and does a proficient job at keeping backside contain. He excels at getting into the backfield on a regular basis and stopping the ball carrier for a loss. He is a good tackler and his strong hands help him prevent ball carries from breaking away from tackles.

Clelin Ferrell has the relentless motor that NFL scouts adore in a defensive lineman. He hustles all out and almost never takes a play off. He does a great job at flowing to the football and rallying to help his teammates make tackles. Ferrell has high football IQ. He has great awareness and play recognition, allowing him to diagnose plays quickly. He also does a very good job of not being deceived by play action and misdirection.
