Atlanta Legends Should Turn to Aaron Murray After Another Embarrassing Loss
By Kit Anderson
The Atlanta Legends lost yet again in true Atlanta fashion failing to show any consistency on offense often putting their defense in harm’s way. Now it is time to listen to the fans and start Aaron Murray.
Watching the Atlanta Legends on offense is best described as painful. The execution is terrible and quarterback Matt Simms turns the ball over with regularity. The only consistency he can seem to find is throwing interceptions and missing open receivers.
Aside from these consistencies, Simms is all over the field and has shown more than enough to be benched.
Fans in Atlanta were chanting for Aaron Murray on Sunday, the former Georgia Bulldog still a popular former player. While some of this is due to their biased opinion on former Bulldog quarterbacks, they are correct it is time to start Aaron Murray.
The Atlanta Legends are part of an up and coming League attempting to get off the ground. For that to happen you must put an entertaining product on the field. Giving fans a reason to watch and something to cheer for.
Having seen three weeks of Matt Simms there isn’t a question, he doesn’t fit that description. Murray, however, is the perfect option for Atlanta to turn to as they attempt to turn their season around.
Putting in Murray will both afford the offense a chance to improve and the fans a reason to watch. Aaron Murray deserves a chance to start based on both the fans reaction and Simms being a terrible quarterback.
While Murray does have a limited ability throwing the ball down the field he has better pocket awareness and cannot be worse at turning the ball over.
For the Legends, they must take a look not only at the good of the offense but of a league that will soon have competition with the XFL making its return.
