The Atlanta Falcons are headed into the off-season with plenty of questions to answer on defense. Their biggest problem was on their defensive line. A problem Ndamukong Suh could help solve.

Ndamukong Suh is one of the more interesting potential free agent fits for the Atlanta Falcons this off-season. After an average season Suh turned his game up during the playoffs becoming the monster he was during his early seasons in Detroit.

Suh constantly pushed would be blockers throughout the playoffs flashing the talent that made him one of the best defensive lineman in the League.

For the Falcons, he would help to cover up many issues the team has been struggling with on defense. Helping their pass rush and run defense get back to a respectable level.

He is the best fit on the free agent market and would allow the Falcons to address another area of need in the upcoming NFL Draft. The biggest question for Atlanta will be if they can free enough cap space to sign an impact addition like Suh?

Suh would offer Atlanta a much needed presence to allow their edge rushers a better shot at opposing quarterbacks while improving the run defense.

If the Falcons were to sign Suh it would likely mean all other impact additions would be through the draft or shopping in the bargain aisle. A fact many fans could live with if the Falcons would decide to actually sign an above average free agent.

Something the Falcons haven’t done enough of in the past two seasons. It is time for Atlanta to use the cap space they are creating cutting under performing players and add a player who can help Atlanta get back to the team they were in 2016.

Signing Ndamukong Suh might be a long shot, but it is the clearest move for the Falcons to make to improve a bad defensive line and return to the playoffs in 2019.
