2. Improve a Poor Falcon Pass Rush With Dante Fowler Jr.

This is the Falcons going for it. This would be a big swing for the team to take, but an indicator of their intentions this year. And with this year already feeling like a make it or you’re fired year for Dan Quinn, this team may need to make some big swings. The Falcons haven’t made it official, but the word is Vic Beasley will be coming back after the team picks up his fifth-year option.

Beasley, who will be making 12.8 million dollars this season, is one of the reasons the Falcons are having to maneuver so much to find money for free agents. Beasley is not the kind of player to carry the defensive line.

He will need some help. Fowler Jr. can be the guy who can come in and become an instant impact guy for the Falcons.

Tak McKinley is a player who needs to take step up this season, and Fowler Jr. could be a player who could take some of the pressure off of him. It would cost the Falcons a lot of money, and the deal would have to be short term.

I doubt Fowler Jr. is looking for a short term deal, but if he’s left with little options, which he won’t be, it’s possible he could come to Atlanta to try to earn a bigger payday. Atlanta has the groundwork for that formula with Dontari Poe doing that exact thing. Fowler Jr. is a very talented player who has a lot left to prove. This would be an absolute steal for the Falcons.
