Atlanta Falcons Biggest Draft Needs
By Deke Lloyd
1. Defensive Line
The Atlanta Falcons most glaring hole is on the defensive line. Grady Jarrett will be back under the franchise tag, but he’s the only constant the Falcons can count on.
Vic Beasley and Takk McKinley have been disappointments in their first few seasons in the NFL. Deadrin Senat will have to step up this season. Jack Crawford and Steven Means are rotation guys, at best.
The Falcons are going to need to address the defensive line with their first round pick. Luckily, this draft is heavy with defensive lineman. The Falcons can target multiple guys, whether their edge rushers or interior guys.
Dan Quinn and Thomas Dimitrov will have options for the 14th pick. The real difference makers, Quinnen Williams, Nick Bosa, and Montez Sweat will be off the board by the time the Falcons get to their pick. But players like Clelin Ferrall, Ed Oliver, and Rashan Gary will be there for the Falcons.
Any three of those players would improve the Falcons defensive line as soon as they suit up. The Falcons are very fortune to be in such a defensive line-heavy draft.
