3. Offensive Line

Yes, the Falcons need defensive help more than the offense needs it, but you’re telling me if Cody Ford or Jawaan Taylor are on the board at 14 the Falcons won’t at least think about it? The Falcons would be dumb not to think about it. The Falcons have signed two guards this offseason, Jamon Brown and James Carpenter, but that doesn’t mean those two are the puzzle pieces the Falcons were missing.

No, the Falcons offensive line could use some more reinforcements. I don’t think either of the two top guys, Ford and Taylor, will be on the board, but if they are, the Falcons should think about it.

Matt Ryan is still the Falcons biggest investment and most important player. The Falcons would not be protecting their massive investment if they didn’t give a good offensive line to stand behind. I think it’s pretty unlikely, considering the depth of quality defensive guys in this draft, but it should be considered at option in the first round.

Maybe the Falcons like some offensive lineman later in the draft, but going with one of the big guys early wouldn’t be the worst thing to do.  Don’t be surprised if we see an offensive lineman in the first few picks.
