The Combine is complete, most Pro Days have been attended and free agency has come to a crawl. The Atlanta Falcons must now turn their attention to the NFL draft, in order to fill their needs. Edge rusher is one of the most prominent needs the Dirty Birds have, so today we look at defensive end Montez Sweat as a potential fit with the team.

Montez Sweat is a 6’6 260 pound edge rusher from Mississippi State University. He has a long arm length of 35¾ inches and hands that measure 10.5 inches in size. He was originally a tight end coming out of high school. The 22-year-old graduating senior hails from Stone Mountain, Georgia, so he would be back home should he be drafted by the Atlanta Falcons.

Montez Sweat originally attended Michigan State University, however he left the team after being suspended for reasons undisclosed and transferred to Copiah-Lincoln Junior College  before eventually landing at Mississippi State. This could be a major red flag for Atlanta, depending on the reason why Sweat was suspended. The Falcons are known from shying away from prospects from character issues, especially after star quarterback Michael Vick was arrested for dog fighting in 2007.
