Atlanta Falcons: Potential First Round Pick Montez Sweat
NCAA Production
Montez Sweat is not just a workout warrior. He has the NCAA production to match his measurable numbers. After barley seeing the field at Michigan State and eventually transferring to Mississippi State, Sweat instantly became a star in the SEC, the nation’s best College Football conference. He burst on the scene and notched 10.5 sacks to lead the SEC in 2017. Additionally he was credited with 48 tackles, 21 of them solo tackles. 15.5 of those tackles resulted in a loss of yardage for the ball carrier. Sweat also helped his team by recovering a fumble.
Montez Sweat was even more effective last season, as he increased his sack total to 12. This ranked him second in the SEC and sixth in FBS College Football, at taking down the opposing quarterback. He also increased his tackle total to 53, with 27 of those tackles being made without any help. He did decrease in tackles for a loss by one to 14.5, but he also forced a fumble last season.
