3. Max Fried and Touki Toussaint Belong On Braves

Max Fried has been the Braves best pitcher so far. In his two starts, he still has an ERA of 0.00. That’s nothing.

And yes, I’m aware it won’t be this way the entire season, but the way Fried has looked is off the charts. Fried, who started the season off in the bullpen, made a spot start when the Braves were down a couple of starters. In his first start, against the Cubs, Fried when six innings of shutout baseball. Fried’s next start, in Colorado, was another six-inning gem. The way Fried has looked there is no way the Braves can pull him out of the lineup. With Foltynewicz making his first start of the season this coming week, the Fried can put this Braves rotation over the top if he can keep up this kind of performance.

Touki Toussaint was optioned to the Gwinnett Braves to start the season. After a shaky start from another youngster, Kyle Wright, Toussaint was called up to take his spot. In his first game up, Sean Newcomb couldn’t get through the 2 innings against the Mets. Toussaint came in as relief and tossed 6 innings with 7 strikeouts and only two walks. Toussaint had all of his stuff working against the Mets, one of the higher scoring teams in the NL. It was a showcase for Toussaint. It showed the Braves that there is no way this guy needs to be back in the minors. Whether it’s in the bullpen or as a starter, Toussaint has a lot to offer for the Braves.
