5. The Braves Future is Bright

A bit of contract news has broken since the season started that is pretty important to Atlanta’s future. That was the news of Ronald Acuna Jr. and Ozzie Albies signing long-term deals with the Braves. Acuna signed an 8 year, 100 million dollar deal. Albies signed for 7 years, 35 million dollars. These two deals will keep two of the Braves youngest and brightest stars with the team for practically the next decade. It was incredibly prudent and convenient to get these deals done early in the season so both players aren’t worried about their future arbitration that was coming up quickly. For the Braves, it was also a great deal, obviously. The Braves lock up two great talents while still saving room to spend money, something the Braves have been known to do in the past…

Acuna and Albies, in their first full season of major league baseball, carried this Braves team at different points last season, a season that led to a division crown for the Braves. Getting these two guys under contract, two guys who can be vital cogs on a winning baseball team is invaluable to this team. It was a smart decision from the front office.

Give the guys their money and let them worry about baseball. And the two deals show us fans of this team how much Acuna and Albies want to be in Atlanta. The Braves have the foundation. It’s time to take it over the top now.
