We are moving closer to the NFL season with each passing day. Yesterday, with the release of the Atlanta Falcons regular season schedule and the schedules for each team, it feels like it’s right around the corner. And once the draft passes. which is next week, football will be back before we knew it was gone.

One team ready to get the season started, your Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons will be looking forward to starting anew with the taste of last season’s failure still in the mouth of players and coaches.

This team will be desperate for the playoffs after last seasons debacle, almost as if some of the coaches employment depended on it. A new season brings new optimism but also new challenges.

At first glance, the Falcons schedule looks daunting. And it is, in some areas. The way the schedule lines up, the Falcons won’t be given many breaks when it comes to the start of the season and the middle.

The Falcons are going to be tested from the opening day until the season is over. It won’t be an easy road to the playoffs but the playoffs are a must for this coaching staff and team. No matter how difficult the schedule is, this team can’t think about it that way. It’s football season, so here come the cliches, but you have to take the schedule one game at a time. If the Falcons can do that, we may get to watch playoff football in Atlanta again. Here are a few observations after seeing the schedule yesterday.
