The Atlanta Hawks will attempt to land a top free agent this off-season to pair with two top draft picks.  Trae Young will be a huge asset in recruiting top free agent targets.

The Atlanta Hawks will attempt to land one of this off-season’s prized free agent targets. Trae Young will be a huge help in luring a potential star to Atlanta. Young is an electric point guard who is improving and will always share the basketball.

While some may find fault with Young’s scoring consistency his ability to set up his teammates for easy buckets is well established. Even with a lack of offensive weapons, last season Young created scoring opportunities controlling the floor and getting his teammates easy attempts.

This along with the fact that Atlanta will likely have two first round picks joining their roster will help Atlanta become a potential landing spot for top free agents.

The problem for Atlanta will be the fact they aren’t a super team or anywhere close. They can only hope to sign a free agent who doesn’t want to join forces with LeBron or one of the myriad of super teams we see growing around the NBA.

Jimmy Butler could be one interesting option considering he seems more and more likely to leave Philly and join his own team.

Young will help a player like Butler decide to come to Atlanta knowing they won’t have to run the offense alone and will be paired with one of the best distributors in the League.

With still two months of the playoffs remaining, there is little question Atlanta is already started their off-season preparing for the draft and readying to attempt and land one of their top targets.

John Collins and Kevin Huerter are exciting assets as well both of whom should continue and improve next season. More to come as the NBA off-season grows closer.
