1. Morris Claiborne

Morris Claiborne came into the league in 2012 when the Dallas Cowboys selected him with the sixth pick. Unfortunately, for Morris and the Cowboys, the cornerback could never play up to justify his high draft choice. That may have something to do with the stacked LSU team he was apart of, or that LSU was producing high-level NFL cornerbacks for some time and Claiborne was next that year. Even though the disappointment, Claiborne has been in the league since 2012, first with the Cowboys, and then the Jets for the last two seasons.

The Falcons are thin when it comes to their cornerback core. Desmond Trufant, Isaiah Oliver, and Damonte Kazee will be the Falcons cornerbacks this season. Robert Alford and Brian Poole have moved on from the team in the offseason. Kendall Sheffield and Jordan Miller were brought in during the draft, but that still leaves a spot or two open for another cornerback to come into the team. Claiborne is a guy the Falcons could get for cheap that could provide an instant impact for the Falcons this season. It might be unrealistic to expect Claiborne, a guy who is going into his 8th season, to have a breakout season, but it’s worth a look.
