4. Danny Shelton

This would be an expensive move for the Falcons. Shelton, coming off a Super Bowl with New England, is a player who is young and looking for a payday. I’m not sure if the Falcons will be willing to pay this price tag, considering the years Shelton most likely wants and Grady Jarrett is still looking for a long-term deal. However, this is a move that would pair Shelton with Jarrett, making the Falcons interior line one of the most intimidating in all the NFL.

The Falcons are still thin on the defensive line. The edge rushers may be more set than then interior, which is an area on the field that has become very important for teams to have a good interior on the defensive side. At the moment, the Falcons have Grady Jarrett, Jack Crawford, and Tyler Davidson on as defensive tackles on the roster. Ra’Shede Hageman was brought back for his second stint with the Falcons, but it’s a gamble to count on Hageman to finally live up to the expectations that have been placed on him since entering the league. At this point, the Falcons have one defensive tackle starter, Grady Jarrett, and rotational guys behind him. Bringing Shelton into the fold would make this defense better right away.
