Atlanta Hawks: Reasons Nassir Little is a Top Draft Option
High School All American forward Nassir Little did not have the freshman season he envisioned at the University of North Carolina, failing to crack the starting lineup. Despite that fact, there are several good reasons why the Atlanta Hawks should consider drafting him in the first round of the upcoming NBA Draft.
The Atlanta Hawks are almost guaranteed to select at least one wing player in this upcoming draft and Nassir Little is certainly a viable option. The Hawks have already expressed interest in Nassir Little, having interviewed him at the recent NBA Draft Combine. According to Sherell D. McMillan of Inside Carolina, Nassir Little will make his way to Atlanta for a predraft workout with the Hawks. He announced the news via Twitter:
Nassir Little is a bit of an enigma. The ultra athletic forward entered the 2018-19 NCAA Men’s Basketball season as the number two recruit in the entire nation, according to the 247sports.com composite rankings. He trailed only R.J. Barrett and ranked ahead of several players who are expected to be NBA Lottery picks in this draft. This includes presumed number one pick Zion Williamson, along with Cam Reddish, Bol Bol, Romeo Langford, Darius Garland and Coby White. Little was the MVP of the McDonald’s All-American Game and Co-MVP of the Jordan Brand Classic. Yet Nassir did not have the great season that scouts and basketball fans were anticipating, causing many to question how good of a prospect he truly is. One thing is for certain, the upside and potential are certainly there. However many believe the potential to be a bust, is just as great for Nassir unfortunately.
