Small Forward. Atlanta Hawks. Deividas Sirvydis. 44. player. 125.
6’8 190 • Lithuania

2018: Pts:5.4 REB:1.9 APG:0.6 STL:0.1 BLK:0.0 FG%:48.4 2P%:52.4 3P%:46.3 FT%:76.5

Atlanta Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk has repeatedly said over and over again, that he does not want to bring five rookies onto the Atlanta Hawks roster next season. However he did not say he wouldn’t bring in four. Having already made four selections in round one, the final remaining pick makes sense to be a stash player, who can continue to work on his craft overseas. If he is still on the board, Deividas Sirvydis would be a prime stash candidate for the Atlanta Hawks. Shooting is where Sirvydis will make his money in the NBA. He is accurate shooting outside, both off the dribble and spotting up. Sirvydis shot 46 percent from downtown in Euocup this past season. He’s also an adequate passer and ball handler. Sirvydis makes some mental mistakes and he probably will never be a great defender, due to his physical limitations. However he is young and his shooting ability should allow him to carve our a bench role in the NBA down the road. Like my middle school basketball coach, coach Miller always said, a shooter can play in any league. Should Sirvydis be off the board when the Atlanta Hawks choose or they keep multiple second round picks, Yovel Zoosman of Israel and Marcos Louzada Silva of Brazil are also stash candidates to watch.

The YouTube channel Hardwood Central’s NBA Draft Green Room, provides us with one of the few prospect breakdowns available on Deividas Sirvydis:

That concludes the 3.0 version of the ATL All Day 2019 NBA Mock draft. The Atlanta Hawks shore up their two biggest needs of small forward and center with two high upside prospects. Yet both Cam Reddish and Goga should be ready to contribute from day one, even if it is initially with the second until, until they develop into full time starters in the future. Cam Reddish would provide a much needed secondary ball handler and Goga brings the shot blocking that the team lacks. In Bol Bol and Darius Bazley the Atlanta Hawks take big swings on high risk, high reward prospects. Should both men pan out, they would give the Hawks major versatility and the ability to create a plethora of matchup problems.

The Atlanta Hawks have hypothetically increased their length in a major way in this mock draft. Rim protection as well as length on the perimeter, are the missing link to the Atlanta Hawks becoming a playoff team in 2020 in my humble opinion. The key to the Atlanta Hawks success is adding those type of long defenders, who also offer multiple skills. The ability to shoot well enough for the Hawks to maintain their desired spacing, should he a prerequisite for any prospect that the club decides to select. Should the Atlanta Hawks elect to keep all three first round picks, they could easily decide to go with a combination of two players who are capable of playing on the wing and one big man as well. Armed with six picks in this draft one thing is for certain, the story of the 2019 NBA Draft will not be written, without mentioning Travis Schlenk and the Atlanta Hawks.
