Goga Bitadze who hails from the same nation as former Hawks center Za Za Pachulia, would be a great fit at center for Atlanta. Looking at the team’s first year under coach Lloyd Pierce, it’s clear he values a center that can space the floor. This is intelligent, as it gives Trae Young and John Collins optimal space to operate in the pick a roll. This is a play that they run masterfully, after just one season of playing together. Goga has shown the ability to stretch the floor, with the potential to one day be a deadly outside shooter. He also offers the underrated value of good passing for a big man, and is a solid rebounder at both ends. He also likes to throw down big dunks and show emotion afterwards. Most importantly Goga Bitadze is a very good rim protector. With the way the NBA doesn’t allow much perimeter contact anymore, a shot blocker is the best way to improve the Atlanta defense. Goga needs to improve his lateral quickness and take better angles when guarding on the perimeter. It’s a skill he will never be great at, but coach Peirce is a defensive guru that can scheme around that by changing pick and roll coverages. This pick won’t excite the casual fan, but expect Goga Bitadze to become a fan favorite by mid-season, if he is drafted by the Atlanta Hawks.
. Center. Atlanta Hawks. Goga Bitadze recently worked out for the Atlanta Hawks team officials. He stated that he enjoys watching the Atlanta Hawks from his native country. ESPN draft expert Mike Schmitz gave the following quote about Goga Bitadze’s rim protecting ability:

"Working through Goga Bitadze’s scouting video. His shot blocking instincts are really impressive for a 19-year-old. Great timing and quick off the floor for a guy not widely viewed as a leaper in a traditional sense. Bitadze has the 8th-best BLK% in the ESPN Top-100."

Atlanta Hawks beat writer for The Athletic Chris Kirchner tweeted the following video of Bitadze engaging in a shooting drill:

The Eurospects YouTube channel provides us with a rare Goga Bitadze scouting video:

If true he would be an interesting fit as a combo forward next to star center Karl Anthony-Towns. Rui has a nice mid range game that is his best skill. Other than that he doesn’t do anything particularly great, but he does many things well. He is a solid rebounder, shows the ability to make threes and had shown flashes of being able to make plays for others. Defensively Rui projects as a power forward, because he lacks the foot speed to stay with most small forwards. He also needs to improve his awareness on the defensive end and his assist to turnover ratio offensively.
. Forward. Minnesota Timberwolves. Rui Hachimura. 11. player

The story of Rui Hachimura is a unique one as he was born in Japan. Many people in the country are excited about Rui embarking on his NBA journey. Ed Odeven of the Japan Times covered the pro prospects of Hachimura. Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders broke the news of a possible match between the Minnesota Timberwolves in the following tweet:

The Basketball Writers proves us with a look at the positive aspects of Rui Hachimura’s game.

On the flip side The Basketball Writers also point out the negatives about Rui Hachimura as a prospect in this video:

He is very smooth on the court and shows an improving jump shot. Sekou certainly has tools that can be developed into weapons, with his ability to pull up for shots dribbling both left and right. He also has a great defensive upside with his long arms and quick feet. His recent 34 point output shows that his development is progressing well. Even as a raw prospect, he should excel in transition. Charlotte could be losing their franchise cornerstone Kemba Walker in free agency this offseason, so they probably should take a swing on riskier a prospect with star potential. Having fellow French-born Nicolas Batum as a mentor, should help Sekou Doumbouya make a smooth transition to the NBA.
. Forward. Charlotte Hornets. Sekou Doumbouya. 12. player

Sekou Doumbouya is a very intriguing prospect that the Atlanta Hawks should certainly consider. I though highly enough of him to select him in the first edition of our NBA Mock Draft. Sekou put on a show at his pro day. He swished 15 consecutive threes at one point. This YouTube video by NBA Draft Junkies gives us a more detailed look at the pro day performance:
