Upon entering the NBA, the player Trae Young drew the most comparisons to, was Warriors star Steph Curry. This is due to his unlimited shooting range. Yet when studying the tape, passing and dribbling stood out to me as Trae Young’s best attributes. For that reason, he reminded me of former Suns guard Steve Nash.

A friend of mine and knowledgeable Atlanta Hawks fan known as Epic on social media, recently tweeted that Young’s best attribute was the ability to thrive in the face of adversity. That’s when it dawned on me, Trae Young is very much like Michael Jordan.

How Trae Is Different from Mike

Trae Young certainly does not resemble Michael Jordan in any way physically. Young stands 6’2 and weighs 180 pounds, where as Jordan was listed at 6’6 and 200 pounds during the prime of his NBA career.

Trae also plays a totally different style of basketball than Mike. Young is a player who would rather set up his teammates up for a basket, than score the basketball himself. A guy who would rather get 20 assists, than score 30 points.
