Prior to the season, ESPN writers voted on their predictions for Rookie of the year. Seven prospects received more votes than Trae Young and Trae did not garner a single first place vote, giving him a zero percentage chance to win the award.

Following his record-setting rookie season, Trae Young was a unanimous selection to the NBA All Rookie First team. When he learned about the honor, he sent out a subtle message reminding everyone that he wasn’t given a chance prior to the 2018-19 campaign.

The NBA Rookie of the Year Award was recently announced and unfortunately Trae Young finished a distant second in the voting. When I say distant, I’m talking another time zone.

The farce of a vote saw Trae being defeated 2 – 98, despite the two candidates being close statistically. Charlotte based reporter and announcer Richard Walker, had the nerve to leave Trae off of his ballot completely.

Upon the award being given, the classy Trae Young took to Twitter to congratulate his opponent but also let the world know, that the defeat will propel him to work harder:

The next day Trae Young tweeted he following video, to let the fans know that he is already back to work. He is using the disrespectful voting outcome as motivation. He hashtaged the tweet with his new motto, “to be continued’:
