The Atlanta Hawks were one of the most active teams in the 2019 NBA Draft. They are receiving high marks around the NBA, yet it’s interesting to wonder what their haul might have been without trades.

The Atlanta Hawks continue to mold their roster in preparation for next season. A week prior to the draft, the Hawks owned six total picks. The 2019 NBA Draft was a whirlwind, with draft picks exchanging hands regularly.

When the dust settled, the Atlanta Hawks cashed in some of their assets and came away with three prized rookies. Those men are forward De’Andre Hunter, forward Cam Reddish and center Bruno Fernando.

Positive Feedback for the Hawks Draft

Most NBA experts are applauding Atlanta general manager Travis Schlenk, for doing a great job of improving his team through the draft. Bleacher Report writers Zach Buckley and Joe Tansey both gave the Hawks an A grade. FanSided writer Daniel Lubofsky of Hoops Habit, awarded Atlanta with an A as well.

As more experts and columnist released their draft grades, the positive feedback for the Atlanta Hawks continued. Steve Alexander of Rotoworld also awarded Atlanta with a grade of A, in a recent Yahoo Sports article. The same grade of A was also awarded by Kyle Boone of CBS Sports.

The A grades kept rolling in. Tom Downey and Jimmy Crowther of Chat sports both awarded the Hawks with a top grade. Ray Ratto of Deadspin wrote about how draft grades are useless, then proceeded to give Atlanta an A as well.

Tom Haberstroh of NBC sports named the Atlanta Hawks as a draft winner. Reid Forgrave of CBS Sports, Andrew Sharp of Sports Illustrated, Charles Curtis of For the Win and Vincent Frank of The Sports Naught, all belive that the Atlanta Hawks passed the 2019 NBA Draft with flying colors.

Up and coming basketball analyst and draft guru Rashad Phillips of Sports Talk 2319 gave the Atlanta Hawks an A+ for the draft. He gave major credit to the scouting department in the tweet below.
