Atl All Day Atlanta Hawks 2019 Draft Grade: A

As you can see I gave the Atlanta Hawks a draft grade of A, for the 2019 NBA Draft. Had the team not surrendered quite as many assets for De’Andre Hunter or took on the bad contract, I would have awarded them an A+.

In addition to drafting De’Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish, the team selected center Bruno Fernando in round at pick number 34. The team made a trade with the Philadelphia 76ers to acquire the pick.

Bruno Fernando is a chiseled physical specimen. He’s an explosive athlete, a good passer and a solid shooter from mid range. He’s also a good rebounder and a decent shot blocker.

Bruno mostly needs to improve on defensive awareness and extending his shooting range outside of the three-point line. The fact that he was a college teammate of Kevin Huerter, should work well for the Atlanta Hawks chemistry.

Cam Reddish was the consensus top choice by the Atlanta Hawks fans. His selection has taken Hawks fandom to new levels of enthusiasm. He is the ball handling small forward that the Atlanta Hawks need, to expand the off ball game of Trae Young.

De’Andre Hunter adds a pesky perimeter defender, that can also make teams pay from beyond the arch. Factor in the acquisition of Evan Turner for Kent Bazemore and the Atlanta Hawks are having a nice offseason thus far.
