1. The Atlanta Braves Make a Minor Move Adding Orioles Reliever Mychal Givens

Mychal Givens may not be many Braves fans first choice or even a player they are familiar with. But he is a player who is both on the market and would improve the Braves roster without breaking the farm system.

Outside of one rough outing Givens is having a strong season and would help to solidify a shaky Braves bullpen.

Givens has an ugly 4.76 ERA but if you take a look beyond the numbers you will see Givens has pitched better than his ERA would suggest. He has allowed three earned runs in his last nine appearances with two of those runs coming against an explosive Boston offense.

This isn’t to suggest acquiring Givens would be a homerun move for Atlanta, rather one in a series of moves. Givens would help to patch the pen and give manager Brian Snitker another reliever he can count on.

Givens has converted six save chances this season though it is hard to see him stepping into a closer’s role with Atlanta. Using him in the 6th or 7th innings or on a matchup basis would be Atlanta’s best move.  Will it be two years in a row Atlanta and the Orioles strike a deadline deal?
