5. Could the Braves Acquire A Closer With a Surprise Trade?

The Angels are going to be a very interesting team to watch at this year’s trade deadline. They appear to be fading in the standings and have very little chance of climbing back into their division race.

With that in mind, it seems likely the Angels could at least explore trading some of their veteran players. Hansel Robles is a name many Braves fans will remember from his years with the New York Mets.

Acquiring Robles would be a move that is a bit off the map but on par with many of the moves this front office has made.

Robles is making $1.4-million dollars this season and will be arbitration eligible next season.  This year Robles has a 2.95 ERA and has converted 11 of 13 save chances.

In this scenario, the Braves would acquire a bit of a wildcard who at his best is a dominant late inning reliever. It would be a surprise move and yet perfectly fit the teams’ current roster needs. The question is would the Angels be willing to move on from Robles?
