The Atlanta Falcons will have a bit longer to negotiate with their star receiver Julio Jones. Jones made it clear he doesn’t plan to holdout despite the fact the Falcons haven’t given him the new deal he was promised.

The Atlanta Falcons priority going into the off-season was resigning their own players namely Julio Jones. Jones was due a pay raise and an extension considering how far the market has passed his current deal.

Despite the fact the Falcons have failed to come to an agreement with Jones yet Julio doesn’t plan to holdout.

This is great news for both sides considering this seemed to have the potential to turn ugly. Jones has always been the model player and is the best receiver in the League. He consistently produces at the highest level without the diva tendencies that often come with a top receiver.

Julio has made it clear he will attend Falcon’s camp and avoid any potential holdout. Making it clear he trusts the front office and owner Arthur Blank’s word that they will give Julio a new deal.

Making Jones one of the highest-paid receivers in the League is a no-brainer of a move. Jones works hard and is at the top of his game, he is unselfish and constantly helping his teammates improve.

Signing Jones to an extension would be a great move for Atlanta and one that could save them a bit of cap space this season if they re-work Julio’s contract enough.
