5. Despite His Production, Atlanta Doesn’t Have Room For Another Inconsistent Pitcher like Marcus Stroman

Marcus Stroman will demand one of the bigger trade packages in the next month if the Blue Jays decide to move him. Despite the seeming fit Atlanta should avoid trading for the young starter. Atlanta has plenty of young starting pitching in their system.

Trading for another starter they are unsure of isn’t worth the risk considering the price Stroman is likely to demand.

The Braves need a veteran arm that will help to steady their pitching staff come postseason time. Stroman has limited experience in high leverage games and has been consistently average in his career.

Atlanta should turn their focus to veteran options who will give the team quality innings to help rest their young arms and give them an experience starting option come postseason time. Marcus Stroman doesn’t fit with Atlanta’s roster.  Be sure and comment below with who you believe the Braves should target before the upcoming trade deadline.
