The Atlanta Braves Acquired the Perfect Fit Signing Dallas Keuchel
By Kit Anderson
Atlanta Braves baseball is finally back after a long All-Star break. Dallas Keuchel started the first game back for Atlanta showing just how important he is to this Braves roster.
Signing Dallas Keuchel might just prove to be one of the best moves the Atlanta Braves have ever made. While this may seem like an overstatement bear with the reasoning for a moment. Keuchel is coming off of another outing where he made it into the 7th inning.
He is the only Braves pitcher who is consistently pitching deep into games during his starts. He is also the only Braves pitcher with any meaningful postseason experience.
That will have a huge impact on the Braves postseason chances. Being able to send Dallas Keuchel out game one of a postseason series changes the complexion of this Braves roster.
They now have a true frontline starter, one that will give them a chance to win against anyone during the postseason.
Dallas has that big of an impact on a team who badly needed a veteran starter. Keuchel is the piece that could finally put this team back over the top and give them a chance to make some noise during the upcoming postseason.
So far Keuchel is 3-2 with a 3.09 ERA although those numbers hardly show just how much value Keuchel has to the team.
Even with Keuchel in the fold, Atlanta is still expected to be active at the upcoming trade deadline. Attempting to acquire at least one more starter will be a priority for a team that needs more experienced postseason pitching.
Dallas has World Series experience under his belt and will be able to help guide Atlanta’s staff if they were to make it that far. Regardless adding Keuchel was a move this team needed to make them legitimate contenders in 2019.
