The Atlanta Braves are in need of starting pitching if they want to be viewed as legitimate World Series contenders. No arm would make Atlanta more of a World Series favorite than the Mets Noah Syndergaard.

Noah Syndergaard is on the trade market and the Atlanta Braves and every other team in baseball has to be interested. Syndergaard is an electric starter with the ability to transform any rotation to a postseason worthy team.

Not only is Syndergaard a proven top of the rotation arm he would quickly become a fan favorite in Atlanta. Paired with Dallas Keuchel he gives the Atlanta rotation a true postseason rotation capable of taking on any team in the National League.

To acquire Syndergaard Atlanta would likely have to put together a package of prospects that would be enough to make any Braves fan wince.

However, it is worth it considering what Atlanta needs and how close they are to a championship contender. Prospects aren’t going to help Atlanta win the World Series this year, and in an increasingly unpredictable sport, the Braves need to attempt to accelerate the process and win while they have the chance.

Brian McCann, Josh Donaldson, and Dallas Keuchel are all set to be free agents after this season. Opting to wait could mean they see their window to win a World Series close. Even with a talented young core, Atlanta has veterans who are producing at a high level this season.

Now is the time for the Braves to go all in and attempt to bring a championship to Atlanta for the first time since 1995. Acquiring Syndergaard will be costly but the Braves are likely in the best position to acquire the righty considering their extensive farm system and familiarity with the Mets.  More to come as the trade deadline edges closer.
