Vince Carter Will Provide Veteran Leadership

Besides just bringing more attention to the Atlanta stars, Vince Carter can help lead and guide the young Hawks in every possible way. He has experienced nearly every one of the ups and downs, that an NBA player can go through.

Vince is a vocal leader. He often stepped in to protect teammates such as Trae Young, when opponents attempted to intimidate them with in your face trash talk.

Carter has playoff experience, so he can impart plenty of wisdom to his Atlanta Hawks teammates in that area. He also has experienced mega stardom, so he can help guys like John Collins and Trae Young deal with the demands that stardom entails  He can share his knowledge and experience on how to deal with the distractions of media and the plethora off court scenarios, that can derail a young athlete.

Many young players come into the NBA not accustomed to losing games at all. Obviously the young Atlanta Hawks don’t plan on losing many games, but the NBA season can be an unforgiving grind at times.

A veteran like Vince Carter helps to keep team moral high. He is a steady, calming influence that can help his inexperienced teammates maintain focus. Such a presence can help prevent back to back loses from spiraling into a long losing streak.

Playing a season under the tutelage of Vince Carter, should do wonders for Atlanta Hawks rookies De’Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish. With both rookies playing the wing position that Vince Carter once started at, they stand in line to learn a ton, about the nuances of playing the position at a high level.

Star point guard Trae Young  is ecstatic about the return of Vince Carter to the Atlanta Hawks. He expressed his enthusiasm in the following tweet:
