Atlanta Falcons: Ten Standout Players Versus Miami
The Young Atlanta Falcons Wide Receivers
Depth at the wide receiver position behind starters Julio Jones, Mohamed Sanu and Calvin Ridley has been a concern with the Atlanta Falcons roster. However performances by receivers Russell Gage, Kahlil Lewis and Olamide Zaccheaus gave the team a source of hope.
Led by second year player Russell Gage the trio combined to haul in seven of ten targets for 111 yards. Pro Football Focus awarded Gage with a grade of 86.9. That was the highest grade of any Atlanta Falcons offensive player who played double-digit snaps.
Olamide Zaccheaus the 5’8 undrafted rookie out of Virginia, was the second highest graded skill position player with a grade of 80.9. Khalil Lewis finished third on the Atlanta Falcons offense with a grade of 77.1. Lewis stands six feel tall and is attempting to make the club as an undrafted free agent from the University of Cincinnati.
Russell Gage who led the trio with three catches is almost guaranteed a roster spot. It will be interesting to see if Lewis or Zaccheaus can grab one of the last two wide receiver spots on the team.
