The Atlanta Falcons dropped their third consecutive game of this preseason and have lost 11 exhibitions games in a row. While many think the preseason does not matter, continued losses raise questions about the team’s depth.

Another preseason game, another Atlanta Falcons loss. This has become a script that is far too familiar in recent years.

Not only did the Atlanta Falcons become the only NFL team to fall to 0-3 in this year’s preseason, the team suffered its eleventh consecutive defeat in exhibition play.

Yes you read that correct. The Atlanta Falcons last preseason win, came on September 1, 2016 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The score was 17-15 in favor of the home team Falcons.

Even more concerning, is the fact that the Atlanta Falcons have a streak of losing the third preseason game. The third game is known as a dress rehearsal for the regular season. It is a game in which the starters play more snaps than any other exhibition game.

The Atlanta Falcons have dropped six consecutive dress rehearsal games. The last time the Dirty Birds won such a preseason contest was on August 21, 2012. The result was a 23-6 triumph, over the Dolphins in Miami.

This season the Atlanta Falcons dress rehearsal, will be during their week four preseason contest. That game will take place on August 22, against the Washington Redskins in Atlanta. The fact that the Falcons have an extra exhibition contest this year, due to playing in the Hall of Fame game, moves the dress rehearsal game to week four.

The Atlanta Falcons defeat against the Jets at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, raised some strong concerns. The offensive line was definitely the biggest cause of Falcons fans’ anxiety.
