100 Wins for the Braves? It’s VERY Possible

With 20 games to go in the season, the Atlanta Braves need to go 12-8 to achieve a 100 win season. A Braves team hasn’t won 100+ games since 2003. However, the 2019 Braves easily can reach the 100 win mark. Let’s look at the remaining games for the Braves.

5 vs. Nationals, 7 vs. Phillies, 3 vs. Giants, 2 vs. Royals, and 3 vs. Mets

The Braves Have Been Really Good Lately

The Atlanta Braves are one of the hottest teams in baseball at the moment with a record of 16-2 in their last 18 games. One reason for this success is due to the great outings by the bullpen recently. Chris Martin, Shane Greene, and Mark Melancon are finally in a groove that seems to be unstoppable. The bullpen has a record of 6-1 during this 18 game stretch and is providing a much easier task for Brian Snitker when he must decide who needs to come in for relief.

The Braves offense also has been rolling. The Braves are not only on the verge of a 100 win season. They also have the chance to have three players with 40 HR’s (Acuna Jr., Freeman, and Donaldson). This 16-2 stretch has been achieved without stars such as Dansby Swanson and Nick Markakis. That being said, what will the Braves be able to do in the postseason when their offense is back to full strength?

How do the Braves Get to the 100 Win Mark?

Of the 20 games left, the Braves only need to win 12 games. 5 of these games are against teams under .500 (Giants and Royals).

5 vs. Nationals: The Braves are on a 4-game win streak against the Nationals. With five games remaining between the two teams, it’s fair to predict the Braves can go 3-2 through these five games.

7 vs. Phillies: It’s very possible when the Braves take on the Phillies Sept. 17-19, the Braves could clinch the division during this series. That being said, expect Atlanta to come in very energized for this series. The Braves need to post a 4-3 record in these seven games.

3 vs. Giants: When the Braves took on the Giants in May, Atlanta won 3 of 4. By the time this series takes place, San Francisco should be out of playoff contention. Atlanta should be able to take 2 of 3 in this series.

2 vs. Royals: The Royals visited Atlanta in July and took two straight from the Braves. Honestly, the Braves should return the favor when they visit Kansas City in the last week of the season. However, even if the Braves the split the series 1-1, 100 wins can still be achieved.

3 vs. Mets: The Mets are fighting with everything they have to clinch a wild card birth. The Braves are 7-2 in their last nine games against the Mets. A 2-1 series win shouldn’t be tough for the Braves. Expect the Braves to get that 100th victory in the last series of the regular season.

Atlanta Braves Predicted Final Record: 100-62

The Atlanta Braves could easily do better than this. For example, they may sweep the Royals. However, each series remaining will almost have to be a Braves series win to get to the 100 win mark. Regardless, it’s a great time to be a baseball fan in Atlanta. Braves fans are ready for the postseason to get started to see if the team can make a World Series run.
