Undisciplined Offensive Line Penalties

The Atlanta Falcons offense line needs to be more disciplined with avoiding penalties. Jamon Brown has been a major culprit drawing penalties in both starts thus far.

Brown now has a streak of six consecutive games with a penalty, dating back to last season. He also drew eight yellow flags in eight starts with the New York Giants last year, giving him 11 penalties in his last ten starts.

Jamon Brown has been most guilty, but he has company. Veterans Jake Matthews and James Carpenter are second worse on the Atlanta front five with two flags drawn. Kaleb McGary, Alex Mack, Chris Lindstrom and Ty Sambrailo have all a been flagged once this season.

The Atlanta Falcons offensive line has collected a stunning eleven penalties thus far in 2019. Overall  the offensive unit has been guilty of committing 12 penalties. That is an extremely high number that makes it difficult to win football games.

The flags are just destroying Falcons drives, putting the team behind the chains early and often. The holding calls are particularly deadly, because a ten yard loss is not easy to overcome. Discipline must be exercised and this must cease immediately, if the team is to go on a winning streak.
