The postseason is about to begin for the Atlanta Braves as they take on the St. Louis Cardinals in round one. Atlanta should be optimistic considering how much talent they have compared to last year’s team.

Last season the Atlanta Braves were the surprise team of the postseason simply happy to be there. This season everything is different, Atlanta is headed into the postseason as a true contender to win it all.

They have a perfect balance of young talent and productive veterans. Their rotation has the ability to help them make a deep postseason push and Atlanta’s expectations are sky high once again.

Optimism surrounding an Atlanta team is a rarity that has Braves fans especially excited. A team with a legitimate shot of winning it all resides in Atlanta. Something that has been said with rarity in Atlanta sports history.

It is a history of collapses, disappointment, and underachieving teams who failed to live up to expectations. This team, however, could be different and it is going to start with a round one win against the Cardinals and here is why:
