3. Devonta Freeman

After two injury-plagued seasons, Freeman has started in all-season games this season. While his health seems to be in a good place, his numbers aren’t as good. Now, that’s not all his fault. The Falcons are in big holes a lot of the time, which means Freeman isn’t getting to run the ball nearly at all. With the right team, Freeman could rekindle some of the magic that made him great.

Freeman’s value has dipped from the heights of his best two seasons a few years ago, but Freeman is still a very versatile back who can run and catch the ball out of the backfield. A team like Baltimore could use Freeman to add to their already potent running game. At only 27 years old, Freeman can still have some of his best years ahead.

Freeman’s name hasn’t been bounced around too much, but there are still 6 days left before the trade deadline. If the Falcons can find a deal suitable, it must be explored. With the shelf-life of running backs these days, it’s not wise to hang on to aging running back when your team is competing for a top-five draft pick. If the Falcons stay this bad, the team will have plenty of draft picks to find a young running back in the upcoming draft. Freeman has been a very good Falcon, but it’s time for him to move on.
