After last week’s bye, the Atlanta Falcons are back in action this Sunday with the New Orleans Saints. With the game in New Orleans, the Saints have a big advantage on the floundering Falcons, who will be looking to snap their six-game losing streak.

Coming into Sunday’s game, the Atlanta Falcons are, almost, the polar opposite of the New Orleans Saints. The Falcons are 1-7 while the Saints are 7-1. The Falcons are in the bottom of the NFC South while the Saints rest comfortably atop the NFC South standing. The Saints are 4-0 at home while the Falcons are 0-4 on the road. The Saints such a good team, they can lose their Hall of Fame QB for 6 weeks and maintain a level of excellence while the Falcons have a team full of underachievers and disappointments. I expect these two teams to both play to the standard they have set all season.

The Falcons will need a minor miracle to pull an upset this weekend against the Saints, in New Orleans. Coming off the bye week, maybe the Falcons would push the Saints if this game was in Atlanta. Unfortunately, for the Falcons, it’s not. The Falcons are going into New Orleans as huge underdogs, 13.5 as of Friday. It’s conceivable the Falcons could cover that spread due to the extra week to prepare and Matt Ryan is back in the starting lineup, but this Falcons defense has little to no chance at slowing Drew Brees down.

If I was a gambling man, which I am, I would take the Falcons and the big number. Now, is that a wise choice? Will that pick be in my Week 10 picks? No, I don’t like the Falcons that much, but my hate for the Saints will not allow me to take this team under any circumstances. The Falcons, most likely, will be blown out familiarly to the way the season has gone, but it’s nice to have a little optimism on a Friday.

Week 10 NFL Picks

Season Record: 19-21

NY Giants(-3) over NY Jets

The New York Derby… in New Jersey. This is an awful game. I wouldn’t put money on this game or watch it. I just know the Jets are terrible and the Giants have Barkley. Take the Giants.

Baltimore(-10.5) over Cincinnati

The Ravens are riding high after last week’s home win against the Patriots. This week, the antithesis of the Pats with the Bengals. The Bengals are 0-8 and unlikely to win a game this season. Let’s see if Lamar Jackson can back up his huge win last week.

Green Bay(-5.5) over Carolina

Green Bay had a bad game last week against the LA Chargers. I’m going to count that game as a fluke and keep riding this Green Bay team. Kyle Allen and Christian McCaffery are going to have a hard time getting going against the Packers defense. I like the Packers at home.

LA Rams(-4) over Pittsburgh

Don’t look now, but the Steelers are 4-4 after starting the season 1-4. Mason Rudolph has been serviceable, if not bad. The defense is always good for the Steelers, but I like the Rams to go into Pittsburgh and steal one.

Minnesota(+3) over Dallas

The best game on Sunday will be in Dallas. This game features two QBs, Kirk Cousins and Dak Prescott, who I don’t care for. This seems like the kind of game that will be decided by whoever gets the ground game working first. I like the Vikings to take this game from the Cowboys.
