Fans of the Atlanta Falcons, a day later, are still basking in the wonderful glory that is beating the New Orleans Saints. Even with the season a loss ten weeks in, the Falcons can look back on the win against the Saints as a positive in a season filled with disappointments.

Going into yesterday’s game with the Saints, the Atlanta Falcons were 14-14.5 point underdogs, depending on where you get your numbers from. After the dominant win yesterday, the Falcons pulled off one of the largest upsets in the NFL in recent years. It wasn’t just that the Falcons won, but how dominant they looked in their second win of the season. It starts to make you wonder what this season could have been if the Falcons were able to play this way all season.

However, after the win, the Atlanta Falcons still sit at 2-7 on the season, destined for a top-ten draft pick in the least. It would be a minor miracle for this Falcons team to run the table to make it back to an 8-8 or 9-7. What’s more likely is the Falcons fight for a couple more wins against Carolina or Tampa Bay to make the season feel like the team has avoided complete disaster. But, for now, the Falcons can still live on the laurels of beating the Saints. Let’s continue to revel in Sunday’s win with some takeaways from the game.
