Yesterday, Alex Anthopoulos was given an extension and promotion that will keep him with the Atlanta Braves through 2024. Over the past three seasons, Alex Anthopoulos has reshaped this roster into a perennial contender with wise moves over his time.
In 2017, the Atlanta Braves were in dire straits when John Coppolella, the general manager for Atlanta at the time, was banned from baseball for life. At the time, the Braves were in the midst of a rebuild with an interim manager at the helm of the team. Whoever was chosen to take over for Coppy was going to have quite the challenge ahead of them. Luckily, the Braves made the right decision by hiring Alex Anthopoulos.
It hasn’t been a smooth road for AA since joining the Braves in 2017.
