The Atlanta Falcons have every reason to consider one final move in free agency ahead of training camp opening and the 2026 season truly getting underway. The NFC South continues to be wide open, with the Falcons being given every chance to take hold of the division over the last three seasons. Opportunities that have been squandered with the roster often being a handful of pieces short of making a meaningful run.

With this in mind, there is every reason to consider going out and taking one final swing to help push the roster over the top. Starting with a player who clearly takes an area of weakness and makes it a clear strength.

1. Stefon Diggs

Drake London is currently the only receiver that the Falcons can rely on, pointing to the concerning lack of depth that has been built. This has often come back to bite the Falcons in recent years, with the team failing to build a capable depth chart ever since Julio Jones walked away from the franchise. All of this adds up to every reason to sign Diggs and have a chance to put together one of the better depth charts in the South at the position.

Diggs is coming off a solid season with New England, offering 1,013 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Even at this late stage of the receiver's career, there is an undeniable impact and a clear fit in Atlanta.

2. Joey Bosa

If Bosa is going to return for another season, it would be ideal to see the Falcons enter the bidding war for the services of the defender. The veteran makes sense as a rotational upgrade, offering the Falcons depth behind the trio of James Pearce, Jalon Walker, and Brandon Dorlus. For Bosa, it is a chance to step into a leadership role at the position and help young pieces take the next step in their respective careers.

Signing Bosa is about getting 5-6 sacks and adding a veteran who is more than capable of handling meaningful snaps. It is at least worth a phone call, as the franchise lost a number of pass-rushing options in the 2026 offseason.

3. Deebo Samuel

If the Falcons want to add to the receiver position but do so without inviting the headlines that Diggs brings, Samuel is the answer. The pass catcher is a unique weapon who remains unsigned despite having a productive season with the Washington Commanders. Samuel gives the franchise depth, but the ability to lean on its youth or part ways with the receiver if things don't go according to plan.

For Samuel, you're running out of options as the offseason comes to an end, and there are few clear fits remaining. The Falcons at least offer the playmaker a path to playing meaningful snaps and being an important weapon for a roster that clearly is one piece away.
