2. Daysbel Hernández

The Atlanta reliever has provided a level of predictability from what is an extremely volatile bullpen. Having at least one arm Brian Snitker has been able to count on in recent weeks is a much-needed stabilizer. Still, the team's need to add to the position should be their top priority moving forward. Finding at least 1-2 additional arms that can help balance out the back of Atlanta's bullpen.

With that said, the reliever is continuing to gain trust and is a surprise setup option in the first weeks of the season. Having spent such a long time in the league with varied success, it is one of a handful of great early stories for Atlanta.

3. Alex Verdugo

Toward the end of spring training, the Braves made a surprising move, signing veteran outfielder Alex Verdugo. The veteran was believed to have improved depth, joining Bryan De La Cruz, Jarred Kelenic, Jurickson Profar, and Michael Harris. Since that time, this group hasn't fared well, with De La Cruz ending up in New York and Kelenic being demoted.

Jurickson Profar's suspension threw yet another wrench into Atlanta's plans and opened the door to Verdugo stepping into the everyday lineup. While the defense isn't perfect, Verdugo breathed life into the Braves' offense. It isn't a coincidence that when Atlanta started to turn their season around aligned with Verdugo joining the lineup.

He has earned Brian Snitker's trust enough not only to be in the lineup but to set the tone for Atlanta at the top. Verdugo's energy and offensive contributions are giving the Braves hope that perhaps they can survive Profar's extended absence. If Atlanta makes it into the 2025 postseason, this year's starting outfield would be Harris, Verdugo, and Ronald Acuña Jr.

While a trade could still change these plans, it speaks to how impactful Verdugo has been when the Braves' offense was at its most desperate. It appears that last year's struggles in New York were the outlier for a veteran who had been consistently productive at the plate prior to last season's struggles.
