After heading into the first part of July having lost five straight games and falling in the standings, the Atlanta Dream seemingly started course correcting as the All-Star Break arrived.

There's no doubt that they'll be able to continue finishing a rhythm again, especially with the talent they have on the team. With three All-Stars in Angel Reese, Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray, all it takes is for them to have good games, and the Dream will be playing like they did when the season started.

At the same time, there could be some areas on the team where they can improve, and one of them is the bench unit. The Dream's starters have played most of the minutes this season, while the second unit comes in for just a short period of time to relieve them. The thing with the bench is that it's mostly young players who don't have much experience.

If the Dream want to add a proven veteran in the league to their bench, they need to check in on Betnijah Laney-Hamilton from the New York Liberty.

The Dream should trade for Betnijah Laney-Hamiilton

Laney-Hamilton used to be a key piece of the Liberty, but this season, she hasn't seen many minutes on the floor. With the addition of Satou Sabally, there was a chance that her minutes would go down, and with her coming back from a knee injury, a lot of things were in question coming into the year.

This season, she's only averaging 4.9 points per game.

With the Dream, it's possible she gets substantial playing time coming off the bench, and she can relieve Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray, who are logging a lot of minutes this season. She could be the spark they need on both sides of the ball, and could help them in the second half of the season.

Though it was years ago, Laney-Hamilton actually was playing some of her best basketball when she was on the Dream, as she won Most Improved Player in 2020 with the team.
