This is great for a young player focused on doing everything within his power to improve and offer the Falcons reason to promote him into the starting lineup.
As things currently stand, Drake London, Jahan Dotson, and Olamide Zaccheaus are the projected starters based completely on seniority. Branch isn't wasting time wiping away this perceived advantage, doing everything fans could have reasonably hoped to see in his first two weeks with the franchise.
Offering that he was inspired by former Atlanta quarterback Kirk Cousins also shows that this isn't just a job for Branch, but an obsession that he is focused on getting the absolute most out of. Being so focused on taking notes and learning from Atlanta's coaches and veterans proves this and points to why the rookie is going to be a surprise 2026 starter and have an instant impact.

Branch spent his final season with Georgia and offered 811 receiving yards and six touchdowns. These numbers are more impressive than they might first appear when you realize the Bulldog offense was often focused on establishing the run and didn't consistently utilize the pass catcher to his full potential. No question, the receiver was an underrated prospect and is wasting no time showing exactly why.
At least Cousins offered the Falcons some positive lingering effect as well after spending the past two seasons as an obvious frustration. The quarterback's effort cannot be questioned, but the performance was undeniably lacking and forced the move to Tua Tagovailoa or Michael Penix Jr., depending on the competition's winner.
No matter the answer, the focus here remains the impressive start for Branch and the level of focus you want to see from a rookie looking to make a year-one impact. Fans can only hope that this momentum continues ahead of the 2026 season.
