The Atlanta Falcons were focused on improving the defense this offseason, and they were able to do that in the 2025 draft. Their first four selections all came on the defensive side of the ball.
Before making these additions, one of the biggest storylines around the Falcons this offseason has been around tight end Kyle Pitts and the trade rumors.
It looks like Atlanta will keep Pitts around for the 2025 season, with them picking up his fifth-year option on his rookie deal. Offensive coordinator Zac Robinson was asked by B Rich of "The Waterboyz Show" regarding Pitts.
Robinson said, "I'm expecting Kyle to take a big jump. You know Year 2 of the system. Year 2 of understanding what we're trying to do offensively. All those things come with it, so expecting a lot of good things from Kyle. He knows what he needs to work on with the details and some of the fundamentals, techniques, the consistency down in and down out."

Zac Robinson Expects Great Things From Kyle Pitts
Last season under Robinson, Pitts posted 602 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns.
Pitts is one of the most athletic players at his position but hasn't been able to put on the field consistently. Quarterback play has been very shaky during his time with the Falcons. Over the past four years, Pitts has played with Matt Ryan, Marcus Mariota, Desmond Ridder, Taylor Heinicke, Kirk Cousins, and Michael Penix Jr.
Out of this group, Penix Jr. is the most talented player, which could be another reason why Robinson expects Pitts to take a jump. Being in the same scheme is also easier on the mind of the player. Instead of learning a new playbook, Pitts can just play freely in 2025.
He will be extra motivated as well since he's going into a contract year. The Falcons made him the 4th overall pick for a reason, and they aren't wavering in their support for him.
Robinson's statements indicate that, and it sounds like he will surely be in the team's plans going into the campaign.
