Understandably, the story of the Atlanta Falcons' offseason has surrounded the quarterback position. Even with the exciting defensive draft class, Atlanta's focus has remained on Kirk Cousins and Michael Penix Jr. While Cousins is finally embracing his role as a backup, it still doesn't erase an offseason full of drama.

However, this is far easier to accept when you have the promise of what Penix can become as the focus of your fan base. This is for good reason after years spent watching Marcus Mariota, Desmond Ridder, and Taylor Heinicke at the position. Yet this focus has caused some fans and pundits to overlook an underrated addition.

Corner Cobee Bryant going undrafted and still landing with the Falcons is one of the best moves Atlanta made. Bryant has the talent to contribute to the defense in the future and wouldn't be a surprise rotational option in the 2025 season. While the likely path remains for Bryant to spend his first year on special teams, his talent cannot be overlooked. The Falcons are going to be forced to consider at least giving Bryant a chance to be the team's fifth option at the position.

Falcons Added a Surprise Bargain in CB Cobee Bryant

After A.J. Terrell and Mike Hughes, what the Falcons are going to do at the position remains a mystery. Dee Alford and Billy Bowman are the most likely options for the remaining starting role, while the depth options are questionable at best. While this isn't ideal for the Falcons, it does provide Bryant with an exciting opportunity.

The corner is going to get every chance not only to make the final roster but to play a meaningful role. Having an undrafted rookie work his way not only onto the Atlanta roster but into the rotation is a clear possibility. A large piece of this is due to the lack of additions the Falcons have made after missing out on Jalen Ramsey and the rest of the impactful options on the trade and free-agent markets.

Still, Bryant is talented enough to help shore up this concern and quickly win over the Atlanta fan base. With this in mind, the 2025 draft class has to be one of the best in recent team history, with an incredible defensive wave of talent ready to help the Falcons take a step forward.
