The NFL draft is this weekend, and the Atlanta Falcons have yet to move Kirk Cousins. One of his rumored suitors, the Cleveland Browns, signed Joe Flacco 12 days ago because Atlanta was reportedly asking Cleveland to take on more of the contract than they were willing to.

That said, during his pre-draft press conference, general manager Terry Fontenot was asked about Cousins and the reported trade interest. According to Sports Illustrated's Daniel Flick, Fontenot said there is no price tag on Cousins' trade.

He added, "The report that says it's a specific number, that's not accurate." This revelation is big news for the Falcons fans who still believe Cousins should be traded before the 2025 season starts.

General Manager Terry Fontenot Claims Falcons Have no Asking Price for Kirk Cousins

While Fontenot's comments are intriguing, he is most likely bluffing a bit to see which team he could draw in if the 36-year-old tries to force his way out. If the Falcons truly haven't set a high asking price for Cousins, they would have dealt him to Cleveland.

Given that he is still in Atlanta, they at least have an idea of how much of his contract they are willing to pay if he isn't on the team in 2025. Even so, publicly stating there is no asking price could re-gain the interest of a team like the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pittsburgh currently doesn't have a starting quarterback as Aaron Rodgers has yet to sign. While they could draft a QB this year, reports have suggested they aren't interested in taking a quarterback in round one.

Although that doesn't mean they won't take one later, it sounds like they may not trust them to start as a rookie. Therefore, drawing them back in by saying there is no asking price for Cousins was a smart idea by Fontenot.

Regardless of this tactic, a Cousins trade still seems highly unlikely, but anything can happen.
