The Atlanta Falcons are coming off an incredible 2025 season when it comes to the team's pass rush, finishing with the second-highest sack total only behind the Denver Broncos. Understandably, this left the 2026 pass-rushing unit as a lesser need when it came to free agency and draft decisions. Still, the Falcons lost Arnold Ebiketie to free agency, and James Pearce Jr. remains a bit of a question mark due to off-the-field legal concerns.

Atlanta would be wise to cover these question marks with one final offseason addition that gives a bit of additional depth. Free agent Joey Bosa is a logical final addition, having a history of productivity and appearing as a potential bargain this late in the offseason. Bosa offered double-digit sacks in both the 2019 and 2021 seasons and has a career 77.0 sacks, pointing to a consistent career even if it hasn't lived up to early lofty expectations.

Bosa spent the 2025 season with the Buffalo Bills and offered 5.0 sacks and 47 pressures to go along with a league-leading five forced fumbles. No question, if Bosa wants to continue playing, the Falcons offer an impressive array of talent that would offer the veteran the best chance at productivity.

Falcons Shoud Consider Signing Joey Bosa as Team's Final Offseason Move

The only potential hiccup in this signing is the fact that Bosa could be holding out for a starting role that the Falcons are unable to offer. It should also be noted that there have been retirement rumblings with Bosa, yet to officially announce anything, and he is only 30, presumably having a handful of productive seasons remaining if the veteran wishes to continue his career.

Atlanta should at least explore the potential signing and gauge whether or not Bosa would have interest in being added to one of the league's most productive pass-rushing units. Haason Reddick, Von Miller, Cameron Jordan, and Leonard Floyd all remain potential targets as well, which would solidify the unit if the Falcons were unable to land Bosa.

No matter the piece, the Falcons would be wise to add at least one notable veteran to the position to solidify Jeff Ulbrich's aggressive pass-rushing style. Atlanta's only path to league prevalence appears to be leaning on this unit as well as relying on its playmakers to elevate a questionable quarterback situation. All of this adds up for the Falcons to have every reason to explore signing Bosa as a final free agency move.
