The Atlanta Falcons head coach, Raheem Morris, is an easy person to want to succeed based on his positivity and the way he goes about garnering the respect of his players. However, there is no denying that the seat is growing increasingly warm with good reason. So often, the Falcons look to be ill-prepared and unable to pivot away from what isn't working. It is the head coach's responsibility to adjust his team and understand how to motivate the roster to put its best foot forward every week. With this in mind, there is zero question that Morris should be given a clear goal to save his job.

Finishing with a winning record and making the playoff field should be the expectation that is communicated to Morris. If this isn't met by the end of the season, it is time to turn the page. As harsh as it might seem, it is the reality of a business that isn't supposed to accept losing. The last time the Falcons had a winning record and were in playoff contention was back in the 2017 season. Pointing out just how alarming the continual losing has become.

Falcons' Raheem Morris Must Be Given Clear Ultimatum After Week 8 Implosion

The Falcons had an incredibly favorable schedule this season, playing downtrodden opponents and competing in one of the league's weakest divisions. Add in the weapons they have in Drake London, Darnell Mooney, Kyle Pitts, Tyler Allgeier, and Bijan Robinson, and there is simply no room for further excuses. Contending for a wildcard spot and having a winning record should be a baseline expectation that Morris isn't currently on pace to reach.

As harsh as this might seem, it is the reality of the league. If Morris is truly the right leader for this franchise, this season needs to turn around quickly. Otherwise, the Falcons must turn the page, not willingly accept another season of mediocrity. This is only amplified by the fact that last season, the Falcons completely collapsed in great playoff positioning, and Morris appeared powerless to stop the tumble.

If this repeats itself this season, there is your answer on why a change must be made. Morris is easy to cheer for and the perfect example of the type of personality you want as the decision-maker of your franchise. Still, nothing matters but winning when you reach this level, and it is clear that the head coach isn't doing that nearly often enough.

The Falcons need to be clear with the head coach that now is the time to approach the team with a level of recklessness, understanding this is his final season, should things not quickly turn back in Atlanta's direction.
