Heading into the 2025 season, the Atlanta Falcons have a solid wide receiver core that features Drake London, Darnell Mooney, and Ray-Ray McCloud. All three wideouts played well last year despite the instability at quarterback.

Those three wide receivers are expected to carry the group this upcoming season. However, the depth behind them leaves much to be desired. Casey Washington, Chris Blair, Phillip Dorsett II, Khadarel Hodge, and Jamal Agnew don’t inspire much confidence if one of their top receivers gets hurt.

Among those five wide receivers listed, Hodge and Agnew could have the inside track to make the team because of their special-teams prowess. But they shouldn’t be counted on to become the Falcons’ WR4, which is the bigger problem.

Dorsett could be the team’s WR4 based on his NFL experience, but the Falcons would love to see Washington grab that spot. Atlanta drafted Washington in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Given that he was a Day 3 pick, it's impressive to see Washington make the team, as sixth and seventh-round guys aren’t guaranteed to make the 53-man roster. However, the former Illinois wide receiver only appeared in eight games. Washington had one reception (two targets) for 14 yards.

The Falcons didn’t address the wide receiver spot in the draft, given the limited picks they had at their disposal. However, Atlanta found receivers Nick Nash and Quincy Skinner Jr. in the undrafted free agent period.

Nash, who had a phenomenal 2024 season at San Jose State, could’ve easily been picked in Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft. Luckily for the Falcons, he didn’t, and now he gets to compete for a starting spot this summer.

Based on what Nash showed at San Jose State over the last two seasons, it would not be surprising to see him surpass Washington on the roster. And if that happens, Washington could find himself on the roster bubble and potentially on the practice squad when it's all said and done.
