A consistent rumor throughout the Atlanta Falcons' 2025 offseason has been a possible Raheem Morris and Jalen Ramsey reunion. The two sides have been clear about the mutual admiration and how much they enjoyed working together. Add in the fact that the Miami Dolphins are actively shopping the corner, and a reunion seems very much on the table. Hopes of this were only bolstered when the Packers released corner Jaire Alexander.

Releasing Alexander shows how difficult it is to trade the position when being paid top of the market value and having clear injury concerns. This suggests the Falcons could be able to add Ramsey for next to nothing, or that the team could be forced to simply cut the veteran and allow him to pick his own landing spot. This would save Atlanta a draft pick and make it extremely likely that the Falcons are the team to land the star corner.

Jaire Alexander's Release Bolsters Falcons' Hopes of Improving Shaky Secondary

On the flip side, you also have the interesting possibility that the Falcons drop any interest in Ramsey and attempt to sign Alexander. The former Packer was one of the best corners in the league when healthy and would give Atlanta an exciting pairing with star A.J. Terrell. The team re-signed Mike Hughes and Dee Alford as starting options, as well as impressive rookie Billy Bowman and Cobee Bryant.

Still, the position after Terrell remains a question mark and needs a meaningful addition. Adding either Alexander or Ramsey leaves reason to believe the team is going to take a meaningful step forward.

Already, you've bolstered the pass rush with the additions of Leonard Floyd, Bralen Trice, Jalon Walker, and James Pearce Jr. Bringing in an established corner who has the potential ceiling of either player drastically raises your ceiling.

Even if Atlanta doesn't have interest in Alexander, the corner helps Atlanta in how the veteran changes the market. It sets a lower standard for a trade package for Ramsey while also distracting teams that could be interested in the Miami veteran with another viable option. Now, the Falcons' chances of landing a meaningful addition to the position are unquestionably increased.

For Ramsey, a move to Atlanta makes sense, allowing you to continue to be paid top dollar and join a secondary with Jessie Bates and Terrell. Add in the love for head coach Raheem Morris, and the fit makes far too much sense not to continue to explore.
