Tuesday is an important day for the Atlanta Falcons as their 90-man roster must get trimmed to 53 players. Some have already learned their fate and others will learn if they have a bigger opportunity than expected or will have to find one somewhere else before the 4 p.m. ET deadline approaches.
For players like Chris Lindstrom, they don’t have to worry about getting their release on Tuesday. But for others, it’s an anxious build to the deadline. That included Lindstrom’s brother, who was vying for a job elsewhere but will look for another opportunity after being released.

Chris Lindstrom’s Brother Gets Released By Patriots
According to Mark Daniels of MassLive, the New England Patriots have released Alec Lindstrom. The brother of the Falcons center has bounced around the league after entering the league as an undrafted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys in 2022 and spent last year on the Los Angeles Rams’ practice squad and the New York Jets. He also spent this spring with the Memphis Showboats of the United Football League before signing with the Patriots at the beginning of training camp.
Lindstrom had a modest performance for the Patriots this preseason, posting a 64.9 overall grade according to Pro Football Focus. But he struggled in pass protection, allowing two pressures and a 47.3 grade in 25 snaps.
While that’s a small sample size, it’s something that players on the back end of the roster have to deal with during the preseason. The Patriots signed Garrett Bradbury in free agency to be their starter for the upcoming season, and Ben Brown will now be the backup after Lindstrom’s release.
Chris Lindstrom is facing a different situation in Atlanta. A former first-round pick by the Falcons in 2019, he’ll slot into his usual spot at right guard ahead of Kyle Hinton. He’ll also be part of an offensive line that hopes to protect quarterback Michael Penix Jr., entering his first year as a starter, and will look to help Atlanta make its first playoff appearance since 2017.
